I'm autistic so I struggle with eye contact sometimes. When I want to Canada for vacation a couple years ago, nobody called me out for it. Its ableist to call people rude for being uncomfortable with making eye contact. You don't know what kind of neurodivergent conditions they have.

In Romania, if a woman is invited out by a man to have coffee or dinner, the man will always pay without any expectation or obligation on her part. In addition, if the woman is traveling by car, the man will always open the door for her and wait until she is comfortable. When entering a store, or building of any kind, a man always opens the door for the lady, and she always enters first. But this is also extended to seniors or strangers. When, at the table in a restaurant, for instance, the man will offer the chair to the lady and wait until she is sitting. It is considered impolite or quite rough if he does not follow these steps. If you are invited to somebody's house only to have a chat and a glass of wine or any other alcohol, the host must offer something to eat - from some bites or some sort of light food matching the type of alcohol. It is not allowed to invite somebody to drink without having some food on the table. It doesn't matter the quantity of alcohol - from a little glass only to a bottle, something must be offered next to the drink.
